Dorset Innovation Park is developing as an advanced engineering cluster of excellence, building on its strengths in marine, defence, energy and cyber-security. The Park offers workshop facilities and fully serviced commercial employment land with Enterprise Zone status benefits, the space to expand, access to local finance, and is home to two world leaders in defence technology - Atlas Elektronik and QinetiQ.

The Appledore Clean Maritime Innovation Centre is a global innovation project, that will establish northern Devon as a world-leading research and development destination for innovation in clean maritime technology. The centre will feature cutting-edge research and industry partnerships, flexibly designed workshops to support business innovation, access to the estuary for real-world product testing, and a base for Floating Offshore Wind activity in northern Devon.
