How the Great South West is securing the UK’s future

The Great South West is a key player in the provision of the UK’s future energy, defence and food supply sectors. Its Celtic Sea and nuclear infrastructure will create tens of thousands of jobs, support the transition to net zero and significantly improve resilience. There is also a significant defence industry across the region that includes the development and maintenance of land, sea and air platforms as well as operational bases. Finally, the South West’s food and drink sector is a market leader and will support food security in the longer term.

How Exeter Science Park is delivering for the region

Exeter Science Park has been set up to help re-baseline the regional economy through the development of high-value jobs in turn delivering enhanced productivity and economic growth. Exeter Science Park helps innovative STEMM companies by hosting them in highly sustainable buildings, many of which are net zero, mentoring them in conjunction with SETsquared and other organisations, and connecting them to the wider ecosystem.

Exeter Science Park provides big company facilities for smaller companies. The majority of our companies are in growth mode and we have emerging clusters around health and life sciences, security and defence, net zero and the built environment, advanced manufacturing, and digital commerce. On-site events and training help to build our community and position our companies to compete effectively worldwide.
